The reigning WWE World Champion is AJ Styles - but the next WWE World Champion could be some bloke you've barely heard of.

The unheralded James Ellsworth, a man not even contracted to WWE, has been handed the chance of lifetime on next week's edition of Smackdown - a shot at Styles' championship.

Ellsworth was granted the opportunity after pinning Styles in this week's blue-brand main event, albeit due to a huge assist from special guest referee, Dean Ambrose.

Styles fared much better at No Mercy on Sunday night, though, with The Phenomenal One conquering Ambrose and Cena in a Triple Threat when he clocked Cena with a steel chair.
